Reviews Overview

Most Liked

Patrons rave about the massive portions offered at Palm Bay Fish Bar, with many commenting that the cod can easily feed two. The crispy, golden batter features a satisfying crunch without being greasy, heightening the overall fish experience. The fluffy, hot chips are often highlighted as a stand-out side dish, complementing the fish perfectly. People appreciate the friendly, accommodating staff, which enhances the dining experience, especially for families. Many visitors also enjoy the laid-back vibe of the outdoor seating, making it a fantastic spot to relax while indulging in classic British fare. Lastly, the convenient location near the beach and free parking only adds to the appeal.

Most Disliked

While most reviews showcase a positive experience, some customers note that during peak hours, such as Fridays at 6 PM, the wait times can be longer than expected. Many understand that this is a result of the fish bar's popularity and freshness but stress the importance of timing your visit. A few comments mention pricing disparities in comparison to other fish and chips shops; however, many believe the quality justifies the cost. Additionally, a handful of patrons have mentioned that they miss having more traditional sides, like mushy peas, on the menu. Some feedback may also reflect on the limited selection of pies and burgers, encouraging the owners to expand their offerings. Overall, the positive overwhelmingly outweighs the negatives, making it a worthwhile visit.

Fantastic bit of grub. The cod was massive and could've fed 2 of us easily, we'll. The batter wasn't greasy and had a wicked crunch to it. The chip were fluffy and hot. I had a cheeky sausage in batter, which was lovely.

Coming from the Greater London area, this is the best fish and chips I've ever had. This is a diamond gem near the sea.

Heavy rain so chips in the van today. £10 for medium chips and fish (looked large to me). Cooked freshly on ordering.
